Do It Today: Juried student exhibit at HCC Ybor, and Blues Traveler plays the State

See into the future of art in Tampa Bay at the 36th Annual Juried Student Art Show, a fresh collection of photography, digital media, drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics and mixed media artworks. This year’s judge is Todd Smith, Executive Director of the Tampa Museum of Art. (Pictured: Student work on display at the HCC) On display through May 13, HCC-Ybor Art Gallery, Visual and Performing Arts Building, Tampa.

Not much new going on with Blues Traveler right now, but the spirited jam rock quintet headed by singer and harmonica virtuoso John Popper keeps on truckin' and makes their usual Bay area stop on their latest tour. 7 p.m. Mon., April 26, State Theatre, St. Petersburg, $24, statetheatreconcerts.com. —Leilani Polk
