Do It Today: Santaland Diaries and Tampa's Downtown on Ice

The stories take you through a maze of mass-marketing mania, stressed-out sales clerks, drunken Santas and screaming kids. They first broadcast on NPR's Morning Edition in 1992, launching Sedaris' career and introducing the world to the writer and radio personality's penchant for hilariously dysfunctional narratives, campy humor and salacious wit -- hallmarks of  his later bestsellers  Me Talk Pretty One Day, Naked and most recent, When You Are Engulfed in Flames.
