Do This: Baseball Forever at the Trop

If you build it, they will come... but will they stay?

Look, I’m a Rowdies girl, through and through: Their beer costs less, the players look great with no shirts and when their owner decided he didn’t like the stadium, he used his own funds to make changes. That last one’s a biggie, because taxpayers don’t need to buy another stadium. AHEM, Tampa Bay Rays: We just paid off your last stadium in July. Cost to local taxpayers? Almost $300 million, $148.5 million of which was interest. Honestly, if the Rays want to leave, I’m inclined to let ‘em, but I do like the idea of having MLB in St. Pete, we built an awesome indoor stadium and, given the history of what we did to the black communities in that neighborhood (destroyed them) in name of getting the stadium makes it an insult to move it. That’s why I’ll support Baseball Forever Night at the Trop. Also, I love the stingray tank and the ice cream in the little helmets.
