The lucky crowd at January’s “Tattered & Torn” party in Ybor know what kind of magic the designer Michael Vollbracht can conjure. Here’s another chance to indulge — he’s the visionary behind “Magic, Fantasy & Dreams,” Equality Florida’s 2016 Greater St. Petersburg Gala. The fashion and floral entertainment will include such glamorous sights as Tampa’s former chief of police, Jane Castor, in a coat once worn by Elizabeth Taylor; RuPaul’s Drag Race star Jaeda Fuentes; and cast members from the recent hit production Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens. There’ll also be great food, live music and tributes to St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman; PNC Bank VP Ashley Brundage; and Chris Rudisill, national executive director of Stonewall National Museum & Archives — all of whom have helped advance the cause of LGBT equality in the face of continued threats nationwide. Photo of Michael Vollbracht's designs by Todd Bates. 7:30-10 p.m., Mahaffey Theater, 400 1st St. SE, St. Pete. $125. For more info, contact Todd Richardson, 727-822-2122 or Todd@eqfl.org.
