While working at home I like to leave the front door open with just the screen door between our household and the lovely fall outdoors. The compromised barrier allows sounds from outside to be heard. While it's usually a TPD copter or loud car or dog barking, for once I got to hear something sweeter.
The day before yesterday, while on deadline for my JFK story, I heard sweet female harmonies that reminded me of the sirens in O Brother Where Art Thou. I looked outside and there were two young beautiful women, one brunette and one redhead, walking a cute black-and-white dog and singing as they strolled. I wished I had hailed them down to see who they were.
Today they walked by again and ran out in my pajamas like a dorky fan, and Annie and Dora (pictured above, photo by Samsara) and I became fast friends. Their act You, Me and the Mountain will be singing at The Living Room open mic night for singer-songwriter, 6-9 p.m. Stop by and check them out if you're looking for something new.
