Local entertainment maven Vita DeVoid and her VaudeVillain Burlesque Company will celebrate the Fête de la Fédération Francophile-style with a special show at the Mermaid Tavern in Tampa tonight at 9 p.m.
While one immediately thinks can-can when burlesque and French are in the room together, DeVoid says, to "think more Marquis DeSade and Marie Antoinette." The show's motif will conjure the powdered wig and pageantry of pre-Revolutionary France.
