Do This today and tonight: St. Pete Zine Fest, Loni Love, I Love St. Pete

  • MAKING THE ZINE SCENE: Luxury Mane headlines Zine Fest.

From Romans pasting manifestos to town square columns to rally countrymen to today’s “cons” and movements, ideas have flourished when expressed in a forum. St. Pete Zine Fest, which birthed a new annual tradition on both sides of the bay, maintains this time-honored tradition, celebrating individual thought and fostering Tampa Bay’s creative community. In its second year at the Venture Compound, the fest returns this evening, offering a wide variety of publishers hawking handmade publications that boast an equally expansive range of content. Y Los Dos Pistoles frontwoman/writer Shae Krispinsky will lead a workshop on zine making and cool bands like Luxury Mane will entertain you while challenging your sensibilities. There will even be supplies for making your own zines. Raffle prizes will be given out too. Setup is at 5; fest begins at 6. St. Pete Zine Fest, 2621 Fairfield Ave. S., St. Petersburg. Free admission. facebook.com/stpetezinefest.
