The Civil Rights in the Sunshine State exhibit is up through April 4 at the Sulphur Springs Museum and Heritage Center. The exhibit explores the African Americans' struggle for equality in Florida from the end of Reconstruction (1877) through the 1970s. Gather your friends and loved ones who need a little schooling on Black activism throughout Florida’s history, and join them in highlighting individuals who dedicated their lives to end forms of institutionalized racism. We still have a long way to go as a country, but we can celebrate and take notes from those who started the movement.
