- Grilled Meatloaf Sundae
The Florida State Fair hit town on Feb. 10. There was a lot of publicity about some of the new culinary offerings prior to the opening. Im a meat and potatoes kind of guy and certainly dont consider myself a food critic. Ill leave that job to Katie Machol and Brian Ries. But with all the hype about the the newest fried fair fare I figured I could handle this assignment. As a photojournalist Im used to eating fast food fast. While I usually watch what I eat, I figured one night of greasy goodness couldnt hurt. Frankly it was better than I thought it would be. Here are some shots
I hadn't eaten most of the day so I figured something non-fried of sustenance would be a good start. That's where the Grilled Meat Loaf Sundae came in. It's a simple-food-eaters' delight. There's a slice of meatloaf (it's pretty good meat loaf! ), topped by mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetables and a cherry tomato. From afar it looks sort of like a chocolate-covered sundae. It was delish! Now… on to something odd and fried..
