"Another Thanksgiving has come and gone and what am I most thankful for? The truth. Sometimes, it's the truth you've been trying not to face or the truth that will change your life. Sometimes it's the truth that's a long time coming or the truth you pray would never see the light of day. Some truths may not be heard the way we want them to, but they linger long after they've been said. But the kind of truth I'm most thankful for is the one you never see coming that falls right in your lap." — xoxo Gossip Girl
Thanksgiving is always filled with drama, and although my Thanksgiving may not have been drama-free, it was certainly not filled with affairs, pregnancy scares, and feuds — but how else would these Upper East Siders celebrate the warmest of holidays?
As we all know, Serena loves to chase a bad boy, and loves having and doing anything taboo. For example, wearing a completely inappropriate, totally sheer, skintight dress to Thanksgiving dinner (pictured); and Tripp is no exception. Tripp is not only Nate's cousin, but he is also married, which is such a small detail for Serena. She did set her stiletto-clad foot down for a moment to tell Tripp nothing would happen between them until his marriage was officially over, but you know Serena: get her in an elevator and there are no holds barred.
They stop the elevator to have a make out sesh because she just can't resist him — but never forget where you are, Serena, and be careful where you play grab-ass — especially when it is in Chuck Bass' hotel. Of course nothing is a secret in the Upper East Side, especially in the Palace Hotel. When Chuck finds out of his ex-stepsister's escapades with his best friend's married cousin, he tells Nate what happened. And Nate does what every desperate man does: calls security and gets the tape in case he needs it for blackmail soon (and of course he does).
Blackmail and scandal seemed to rule the Thanksgiving table this year, but what I found most fascinating about this was the fact that the song "What Did She Say" way playing during the entire dinner. Yes, Gossip Girl producers, how poignant. Everyone's secrets are coming out, so lets play a song with lyrics like "Wha-wha-wha-wha-what did she say," so while Blair is accusing her mother of being pregnant, and Vanessa is walking out on her mother because she is fed up, and Nate is together with Tripp's wife Maureen to blackmail Tripp and Serena with the video from the elevator, and Lily is not even at the table and is drinking in her room the background must also be a reminder that everything that is happening is shocking and scandalous, but no matter what is happening Rufus is still going to tell his annual Thanksgiving joke.
No matter what scandal the Upper East Side teenagers are involved in, Lily always seems to top them all. And she has some serious secrets in her past. We all know about Serena's escapade around the world to find her father this summer, but it looks like Lily might have gone to see Mr. Van der Woodsen this year, too, and it looks like her new husband has no idea. Poor Rufus. I have a feeling Lily's secrets are not going to stop anytime soon.
Speaking of secrets, Dorota seems to have a big one: a pregnancy. Dorota is pregnant, WTF!!! I personally absolutely love Dorota and can't believe she is pregnant with the doorman's baby. Their child will be so excellent at serving ridiculously rich people. I can't wait to see the baby shower Blair throws for her, and makes her work at. It will be so fabulous!
Thanksgiving on the Upper East Side is never quiet and simple … well nothing really is, and this year was no exception. It looks like next week the drama and scandal only continue … Serena in the hospital, and where was Tripp? Until next week…
You know you love me,
