The world premiere of comedy “Skin Hungry” runs through Nov. 14 at Lab Theater Project’s new space in Historic Ybor City at 812 E. Henderson Avenue.

Written by New York City’s Erin Mallon, the play was originally set to go live in April of 2020—acting as the first production in the new digs—but since the world shut down, so did the theater.

Lab founder Owen Robertson directs the performance revolving around a May-December romance, and a disapproving son and promises to “make your sides hurt.”

In-person shows happen Thursday-Saturday at 8 p.m., and 3 p.m. on Sunday, through Nov. 14. Masks are requested, with limited-capacity shows and temperature checks before entry. Tickets are $28.

Livestream (Oct. 28-Nov.7) and on-demand (Nov. 11-21) options are also available. For more information, go to labtheaterproject.com.

Theater is expensive, and Creative Loafing Tampa Bay devotes editorial budget to writing about it because it’s essential to cover local playwrights, actors and the venues that support them. Support arts journalism in these crazy days and consider making a one time or monthly donation to help support our staff. Every little bit helps.
