Stargazing is supposed to be one of the romantic things people can do together. Not so much in the hands of Steve Martin (yes, the guy in The Jerk is a playwright; Amy Schumer and Keegan-Michael Key appeared in the Broadway run of this work). Absurdist humor reigns, stars rain down from the sky, and the cast of Meteor Shower (Jonelle Marie Meyer, Amy E. Gray, Jamie Jones, and Jordan Foote) starts peering out of their own relationships towards different celestial bodies. This might be too real if your marriage ever felt like it was on the rocks because of your flirtation, but there are enough showings for you to sneak out and see it on your own.

Sept. 6-Sept. 29 (Wed.-Thurs.), 8 p.m. $18 & up. Jobsite Theater at Shimberg Playhouse, at David A. Straz Center for the Performing Arts, Tampa. jobsitetheater.org
