The Tampa Museum of Art has been hosting its “drawing from life” classes for the past few weeks, and this Monday is the last installment of the educational series that happens at the Glazer JCC’s Golding Center.

Specifically for folks ages 18 and up, these drawing classes explore pencil, pastel, and charcoal drawing from observation. Throughout the session, students will complete both still life and paintings of a live model. All art supplies are provided by the museum, and members of TMA can receive 20% off all studio art classes in the future—which include kid-friendly art play dates, classes that focus on figure drawing and painting, and lessons for teens.

And if North Hyde Park or drawing isn’t your thing, the museum itself is open in downtown Tampa seven days a week, for anyone that would rather look at art instead of participating in it.

Drawing From Life closes on Monday, Aug. 28 at the Golding Visual Arts Center at Bryan Glazer Family JCC. Subscribe to Creative Loafing newsletters.
