With just one episode of The Office left this season, the future of the Dunder Mifflin crew hangs in the balance. Both Michael Scott and his replacement, Will Ferrell's Deangelo Vickers, are out of the picture, and this week's episode promised fans something they have been awaiting for some time: After years of pining and scheming, Dwight Schrute finally gained the position of (acting) Manager.

And this episode delivered. As expected, Dwight made a number of strict changes, like staggering lunches, imposing a 21-digit copier code (which of course Kevin continuously flubbed), blocking websites, emptying the vending machine and eliminating voice mail. Plus, who could forget the decorative alterations, including an American flag and a portrait of Dwight right beside reception, as well as various war regalia and weaponry decorating his new office. Naturally, these changes evoked resentment throughout the staff, in no one more so than Jim, who then took it upon himself to mess with the new boss and remind Dwight whenever he could that he doesn’t actually have very much power as Acting Manager.
