It's always good to enjoy a few laughs. But if you can do it while helping a good cause, so much the better.

On Thursday, March 17, The Catherine A. Hickman Theater in Gulfport hosts Clean Comedy Night, with a portion of proceeds going to Clean Comedy for a Cause, a 501(c)(3) organization which distributes funds to various charities. This year, the money will benefit children and families in Ukraine and Poland.

The event features two clean (of course) comedians, including local Donnie Stopa, who recorded a special for Drybar, has a current special on Amazon Prime, and has won multiple awards for his comedy. The other comedian, Rodney Norman, has a quirky style, a half-million followers and millions of views on TikTok. As we all know, TikTok is everything, but Norman is also a previous winner of the Rhode Island Comedy Festival with decades of experience for those who like their comedy in person and longer than 10 seconds.
At a previous comedy show, the organization raised about $2,500 for One City Ministries, which helped provide clean water in Uganda. So you can actually help people by laughing on Thursday night, which is definitely more beneficial than changing a profile pic or sharing a meme.
