Because of coronavirus downtown Tampa’s famed Winter Wonder Ride took a break last year, but organizers aren’t letting that keep them from raising money to build bikes and provide helmets for families in need. That’s why they’ve teamed up with the City of Tampa to shut down about 2 miles of Bayshore Boulevard between Swann Avenue and Bay to Bay Boulevard from 3 p.m.-7 p.m. for an afternoon of family-friendly riding. All 5,000 expected riders are encouraged to wear costumes.

If you want to throw down money for the cause, then you’ll want to go to the VIP afterparty at the Tampa Garden club where turntablist and DJ Z-Trip—known for epic four-hour sets—is handling the ones and twos. The ride is free, but registration is required; $25 commemorative t-shirts are available, too.

Saturday, May 22, 5 p.m.-7 p.m. Free with registration. Bayshore Boulevard between Swann Avenue and Bay to Bay Boulevard (VIP afterparty w/Z-Trip, 6 p.m.-10 p.m., $125-$150. Tampa Garden Club, 2629 Bayshore Blvd., Tampa.) onbikes.org/bikestock
