Blind Tiger acquires Tampa's Cass St. Deli

Don't worry, the joint will still be slinging dogs, sandos and soups.

After a little over half a year in business, Cass St. Deli was acquired by Blind Tiger owner Roberto Torres earlier this month.

It seems a little strange for the New York-style Jewish deli, which launched its storefront in late June to already be snatched up this quickly. Then again, prior to its brick-and-mortar at 1331 W. Cass St., the deli had grown a cult following while hosting pop-ups throughout Tampa Bay.

Could the popular Tampa coffee shop chain be in the works of selling some of the Cass St. favorites in-store in the near future? According to the Tampa Bay Times, Torres didn't share the specifics of the purchase and new partnership, but the co-founder of Cass St. Deli, Sean O'Brien will remain as the general manager.

In the meantime, you can check out Cass St.'s recently evolved menu and expanded hours — Wednesday through Sunday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., closed Monday and Tuesday.

More on the new partnership as the details unfold.
