One opening announcement, outfitted Airstream, series of pop-up events while waiting on permitting and year later, Clementine Café, slated to launch inside the now-in-flux Ybor Daily Market since 2014, is on hold.
In the meantime, owners Misty and Brian Sommers are relaunching the chef-led delivery service portion of their ClementineChef brand, ClementineDelivers.
Conceived two years ago after friends started asking to buy the food off the couple's dinner table, delivery was the Tampa-based Clementine's original idea. The duo soon saw a need for meals "made with integrity" by a passionate chef.
The food from ClementineDelivers, which began accepting orders Thursday, will be made with hormone- and antibiotic-free, organic, pasture-raised and free-range products. The Sommerses' mission is to bring only the best ingredients to the region.
For the week of Monday, Nov. 16, the menu — updated weekly on Clementine's website and Facebook — includes chicken and shrimp pad Thai, chicken vegetable soup by the pint or quart, and beef and quinoa meatballs with garlic-roasted zucchini noodles. Many of the options come in individual or double sizes.
Interested patrons must place their orders, by phone or email, before midnight Wednesday. The first delivery will go out Nov. 16.
