Last Friday and Saturday, downtown Safety Harbor got a taste of its first craft brewery.
"The brewery is definitely still a work in progress, but we can't wait any more," a post on Crooked Thumb Brewery's Facebook page read. "We are just too excited to show you what we've been up to so we aren't going to wait anymore!"
Though it was still waiting on tables, barstools and glassware, the new brewery premiered its tasting room and beer garden at 555 10th Ave. S. A small lineup of signature brews, accompanied by cider and more beer from Cigar City Brewing and the Tampa Bay Brew Bus, was offered to patrons throughout the weekend.
Crooked Thumb will operate with limited hours — 4 to 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays — for the next couple weeks, but hopes to extend them after its 15-barrel brewhouse is ready.
