The Oyster Bar in St. Petersburg is celebrating two 20 years in business with free eats.

On Tuesday, September 24, Oyster Bar, located at 249 Central Ave., will host a customer appreciation reception where attendees can get into complimentary hors d’oeuvres, a raw bar and photo ops.

“Crazy to think that a St. Pete fixture, the Oyster Bar, is downtown St Pete’s oldest serving restaurant. Over the years, this space has been a part of an ever-changing city and holds a special place in many hearts,” proprietor Josh Cameron shared in a recent statement, adding that his restaurant also seems to have the power of Cupid’s arrow, being that many love connections have been made there over the years.

“Over the past seven years couples [meet] at Oyster Bar for first dates, blind dates, and random chance encounters... now [they] share the anniversary here at the place they met," Cameron added. "We’ve had three marriages from staff that met at working with us.”

Oysters are aphrodisiacs, right?

Can't make the event, but want in on the celebration? For the entire month of September, guests can snag 20 raw or steamed gulf oysters for $20. Come ready to mingle, you might be the next one at the altar.
