It is, of course, more blessed to give than to receive. But what if you could do both at once?
Today is #GivingTuesday — the national fundraising initiative that encourages people to give back to their favorite non-profits.
That makes it the perfect day to bid on items in Creative Loafing's Holiday Auction for the benefit of The Children's Home.
If your bid is successful — which you'll find out when the auction's second week concludes Sunday morning — you'll have the pleasure of knowing not only that you grabbed a good deal on something you really wanted, you also helped the Children's Home and its programs for neglected children and families in need.
You don't have to confine your charitable impulses to one day. Two more sets of auction items go up for bid for 10-day periods on each of the next two Thursdays, so you'll have plenty of opportunity to browse, bid and give.
But today, when giving is in the air, why not give the auction a try? See below for info on some of the current auction items, links to our eBay page, and an auction calendar.
Here are a few of the choice items up for bid until Sun. Dec. 6 at 9 a.m.
