If regionites haven't made their way to South Tampa's Drama Burger, the end the work week is a fine time to do so.
The grand opening for the Lithuanian gourmet burger concept, whose soft opening party happened earlier this month, will run from 3 to 11 p.m. Friday. Drama Burger plans to give away 200 cheeseburgers during the celebration.
"We spent one year in Tampa before opening, taking time getting to know the tastes and needs of our future customers. In that time we became fascinated by the local microbreweries and that inspired the idea of pairing our artisanal burgers with beer," said Drama Burger managing director Rimgaile Paskeviciute in a statement. "We will be serving the best local beer as well as our favorites from Europe."
The Tampa location at 2420 W. Kennedy Blvd. functions as Drama Burger's first U.S. restaurant. Though the new burger boutique specializes in a legendary European recipe for its house-smoked pastrami burger, items like craft beer, a double barbecue burger and a dessert spin on red velvet cake are also offered.
Plus, since daily breakfast is scheduled for the near future, the restaurant will start off with a weekend brunch that includes Euro specialties and "brunchy" burgers.
