HopScotch Cafe has skipped its way into downtown Dunedin with travel-inspired sandwiches. Last month, Seattle transplants Oakley and Lori Carlson opened their new food spot next door to 7venth Sun Brewery at 1006 Broadway.

Best neighbors ever?

HopScotch Cafe offers nearly 20 sandos in three categories: Americana, Caribbean Inspired and Old World(ish). Ranging from $7 to $11, options include The Dino (Serrano ham, salami, pepperoni, provolone, greens, roasted red tomato, banana peppers and Italian dressing on a toasted La Segunda baguette), Woodstock (greens, tomato, pickle, banana peppers, red onion and olive spread on toasted multigrain) and Old Blue Chair (sliced pork, greens, jalapeños, caramelized onions and spicy Scotch bonnet aioli on a toasted La Segunda baguette).

Small plates and salads accompany the sandwiches, which should tempt meat-eaters and vegetarians alike.

Luckily, there’s an extensive lineup of adult beverages to wash it all down with. Customers are welcome to ask about the rotating draft, or peruse the wine rack and the beer cooler. They can also build their own six-pack to go.

HopScotch Cafe operates 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
