K-Chicken & Bowl is the latest Korean fried chicken joint to open in Tampa Bay. The restaurant’s fried chicken—available as tenders, wings, or in half and whole portions—can be dressed up in a slew of sauce options like peanut, white onion and honey garlic. The menu also has other Korean staples like bulgogi, bibimbap, and kimchi fried rice. The beverage menu boasts Korean beer, corn tea, and Soju, a colorless, distilled alcohol.
According to its social media posts, K-Chicken—located at 14380 N Dale Mabry Hwy. in Carrollwood where a Shells seafood restaurant used to be—got off to a rocky start. In a post, the restaurant apologized to anyone receiving slow service recently. The restaurant decided to “be open for take out and delivery only until we hire and train more staff properly to provide better service for dining in.”
The post, dated March 27, stated K-Chicken hopes the dining room will reopen within three to four weeks “with premium Korean BBQ grills cooking on the table so that customers can cook Korean prime meats at their table.”
Besides takeout, delivery is available via GrubHub and DoorDash.
K-Chicken’s hours are Monday-Friday 11 a.m.–2:30 p.m. and 4:30–10 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m.-10 p.m. and Sunday, noon-10 p.m.
