On Tuesday, a meet-and-greet fundraiser, titled Pints with Paul, is planned for downtown St. Pete's Cider Press Café. The event invites guests to mingle with Capt. Paul Watson — the star of Animal Planet series Whale Wars — from 7 to 10 p.m. over beers, music and plant-based food.

One-of-a-kind items are even up for grabs during the silent auction, as are raffle prizes.

A first for the environmental activist, the visit to St. Pete also allows Watson to discuss the various campaigns of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society (think Operation Milagro IV), the nonprofit marine wildlife conservation org he founded in 1977.

There's a limited number of VIP tickets available for purchase online in advance, but attendees can score general admission, too. Proceeds support the Sea Shepherd's ships and the work they do for marine conservation and protection.
