Self-described as a “cultural immersion that transports you to the heart of Africa and the Caribbean,” Seminole Heights’ newest restaurant made its long-awaited debut last week.

Da' Shrine is located at 5137 N Florida Ave., directly across from Spaddy’s Coffee Co. and adjacent to other concepts like Chocolate Pi, Independent Bar and Cafe and the newly-opened Champion Pizza.

The Caribbean and African restaurant celebrated a grand opening on Nov. 9 and offers a variety of both traditional and fusion dishes, from whole red snapper with jollof rice and stewed oxtails to pounded yam and chicken stew,  the popular Nigerian soup egusi, jerk chicken wings and spicy spaghetti.

Da' Shrine is also open for breakfast, with a daytime menu of red velvet pancakes, shrimp and grits and a steak skillet, alongside its full-service bar which boasts a variety craft cocktails, beer and wine.

The newly-opened restaurant's indoor dining room and bar are also joined by its second-story patio that overlooks Florida Avenue. And if you're looking for take-out options, to-go orders can be placed directly on dashrinerestaurant.com or by calling (773) 726-4671.

“Nestled in the heart of Seminole Heights, this restaurant is a haven for food enthusiasts seeking an authentic taste of traditional Liberian, Nigerian, and other African delicacies,” Da' Shrine writes on its website. “The menu at Da' Shrine is a true culinary celebration, offering a wide array of dishes that showcase the complexity and depth of African and Caribbean flavors.
