David and Erica Benstock, owners of St. Petersburg hotspot Il Ritorno and forthcoming concept Greenstock, have announced their next venture — and this time it’s over the bridge.

The duo is launching a 1,600-square-foot Italian pasta concept, Semolina, at Tampa's Sparkman Wharf, and it's opening in spring 2020.

“We are thrilled to welcome Semolina as our newest retail tenant and to enhance Sparkman Wharf’s already impressive options for casual gathering and dining,” James Nozar, CEO of Strategic Property Partners, LLC wrote in a statement.

“Water Street Tampa is bringing exceptional new lifestyle options to the city and we look forward to continuing to announce new restaurants and retailers at Sparkman Wharf in the months ahead.”

Semolina will be located along the perimeter of Sparkman Wharf, which means direct waterfront views. Arguably, the best part is that renderings from OWA Architecture show indoor and outdoor seating, so no need to fight for a table under an umbrella near the shuffleboard court. Don’t want to stay for a bite? The concept has walk-up counter service so you and your fidgety child can get your grub on the go.

Speaking of food, Semolina’s menu is inspired by the sidewalk cafes of old-time Italian eateries, which means made-to-order signature pasta dishes, freshly-baked breads, and salads. Wine by the glass will be available alongside a selection of local brews. Naturally, Semolina’s dishes will be crafted with only the highest quality ingredients, inspired by the sidewalk cafes of old-time Italian eateries.

“Semolina offers the best of modern and classic Italian cuisine and is a place where guests will be able to enjoy quality food within a laid-back setting,” said David Benstock, owner of Semolina wrote. “We think Sparkman Wharf is the perfect, dynamic environment for a concept like this.”

We’re ready for new eats at the Wharf (and more seating, too).
