Legendary celebrity chef Guy Fieri is back in Tampa, this time highlighting sandwich hotspot Cousin Vinny’s.

This morning, the chicken cutlet hotspot took to Instagram to announce that Cousin Vinny’s will be featured on “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” on July 10, at 9 p.m. on the Food Network.

“Secrets out. The one and only [Guy Fieri] swung by for some cutlets!” wrote Cousin Vinny’s.

This is just the latest in a whirlwind couple weeks for Cousin Vinny’s, which is located at 1331 W Cass St, Tampa. Just last month it was listed as a “recommended” restaurant in the 2026 Florida Michelin Guide.

Originally a to-go only ghost kitchen, Cousin Vinny’s Sandwich Co. officially opened its doors in 2024 with an expected new second location for St. Petersburg to open later this year in November.

Cousin Vinny’s primary focus is on classic Italian staples like cold cut sandwiches, chicken cutlets and meatball sandwiches. They also offer a variety of play on classic desserts like their cannoli cream pudding and tiramisu tres leches.

Mr. Flavortown was just here last April, showering praise on downtown Tampa’s Supernatural Food and Wine, a spot that the frosted-tipped chef said has “one of the best donuts I’ve ever had in my life.”

Fieri has been covering the Tampa food scene for over a decade, and stopped at classic local eateries like Ted Peters Famous Smoked Fish and Keegans Seafood Grill.
