Saint Leo University recently launched a new way for students to eat on campus thanks to its new The Hungry Lion food truck.
University president Jeffrey Senese was looking for a way to help students and the community while spreading the word about Saint Leo University.
The 34-foot truck’s menu includes student-friendly options including burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, and soups. A few sandwiches are named after Saint Leo community members like Abbot Issac’s Special, Mac Daddy Hernandez, Cillo Burger, and Frank’s Tomato Basil.
Upcoming plans for the truck involve late-nights serving dishes to students at the school’s San Antonio campus, but also making the trip to West Tampa to park outside Saint Leo’s Tampa Education Center at 1403 N Howard Ave., and reserving the truck for public events.
The Hungry Lion is open Tuesdays-Thursdays 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. to students, faculty, and staff on-campus at 33701 SR-52 at the Student Community Center’s Lakeview Patio.
