St. Pete’s 2020 Pride celebration was rescheduled for a possible Sept. 2020 date but we all know by now that was wishful thinking. If all goes well, St. Pete Pride 2021 is once again hoping for a summer date, but until then you can celebrate with the Grand Central District’s Taste of Pride.

Starting Friday, and all weekend, a long list of restaurants and bars will feature $5 items in a competition for Best Bite, Best Brew, and Best Cocktail—all voted on by the public. There are also prizes for some lucky participants along the way.

Examples of $5 food and drink options from Punky’s Bar and Grill are the Sweet Mother Clucker a chicken and waffle-style gnosh and Punky’s Pride made up of Banyan Vodka, local gin, blackberry liqueur, peach liqueur, Sprite, and orange and pineapple juices.

No tickets are required to join in, just go to a stop, eat or drink, and vote. Drag shows and live music happens at several venues as well (see a list of all the Taste of Pride venues below)
