Stella's relocated in Gulfport, Armature Works gets new restos and more Tampa Bay foodie news

While some of these restaurants are fresh to the Tampa Bay food scene, others are adding more locations or moving two blocks down the street (hi, Stella’s in Gulfport). Here’s the list of where to dine, what kind of bites to be on the lookout for in the new future and which foodie events you need to mark on your calendar.

Openings

Cress is bringing a health-conscious alternative to Armature Works by serving up seasonal salads, bowls and soups made fresh daily. 1910 N. Ola Ave., Tampa.

NoHo Junction Food Court The new concept houses eight vendors with a variety of cuisines including tacos, barbecue, Asian street fare and pizza. Hours for the new food court are 11:30 a.m.-9 p.m. seven days a week. 1500 W. Cass St., Tampa.

Pane Rustica Due The second location of Pane Rustica is offering the same popular baked goods like handcrafted artisan sandwiches, cookies, croissants, and pasta plus gluten-free options within Armature Works. 1910 N. Ola Ave., Tampa.

Sandwich House A new breakfast and lunch joint has just debuted in the heart of Seminole Heights. The menu is made up of goodies like sourdough cinnamon rolls, fresh salads, hummus, signature Flybys, and custom Tampa-style pressed sammies. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 7 a.m.-3 p.m. 5214 N. Nebraska Ave., Tampa.

Stella’s The relocated breakfast and brunch spot is now open. Just two blocks up the street in a bigger restaurant, same menu and boozy drinks. Hours are 7 a.m.- 2 p.m. daily. 2914 Beach Blvd. S., Gulfport.

Coming Soon

Better Than Sex The naughty dessert shop recently announced that it will be debuting a location in the EDGE District in St. Pete. No date has been announced. 

Blind Tiger Cafe A new location is coming to Westshore Plaza next month. Expect latte art, teas and merch like mugs and T-shirts. 250 Westshore Plaza, Tampa.

Grillsmith The restaurant will be hosting a soft opening September, followed by a grand opening on October 11. 6240 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota.

Ground Foods Cafe An organic vegetarian Italian eatery is coming to Seminole Heights this fall. The opening sample menu will be packed with sandwiches, bowls and salads. The joint will also have brews and old-world Italian wines. 6428 N. Florida Ave., Tampa.

Karma Juice Bar & Eatery Cranking out its third location, the juice bar is in final stages of construction and will be serving up smoothies, cold-pressed juices and acai bowls in the near future. 201 Main St., Safety Harbor.

Events

Coppertail Anniversary 5 Year Anniversary Party This Saturday, August 24, from 5 p.m.-midnight, Coppertail will host a pig roast alongside other bites for guests while they sip on the extensive brew list. 2601 E 2nd Ave., Ybor City.

Halfway There Festival of Beer Taking place on Sunday, August 25 from 2-6 p.m. on the lawn at Armature Works. Tickets guarantee attendees a commemorative sampling glass as well as unlimited tastings from over 60 local, national and international breweries. armatureworks.com.

Summer of Rum Festival On Saturday, August 31 the festival will go down from noon-11 p.m. Attendees can sip on 40 rum drinks from a variety of brands while listening to live bands. Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park, Tampa. summerofrumfest.com.

Vegan Food Truck Rally On Saturday, August 31 Dunedin House of Beer, HOB Brewing Company and Suncoast VegFest are coming together to host this rally to provide Tampa Bay with plant-based bites as well as craft brews. HOB Brewing Co, 931 Huntley Ave., Dunedin.
