Whether it's dark, white, caramel-filled, fruit-infused or dairy-free, chocolate is irresistible to many. And since a visit to Wonka's Chocolate Factory won't happen outside the book or films, Generation Food Truck is serving up the next best thing: the Ybor City Chocolate Festival.

The inaugural family- and dog-friendly event, which was moved from Seminole Heights to Ybor City's Centro Asturiano de Tampa due to its size, will take place noon to 8 p.m. Saturday.

Festgoers will partake in chocolate galore as local food trucks and other purveyors present not only classic sweets, but unusual entrees as well. Expect items like chocolate and almond cake pops, pork glazed with Aztec chili and chocolate, chocolate fried chicken on a homemade waffle infused with chocolate chips, and chocolate bacon cheesecake bites.

The Twisted Iron, Le'Anns Cheesecakes 'N More, Moca Loka Frappe and Empamamas will be among the vendors, and the full lineup can be found online.

With live music from 4 to 6 p.m. set to carry the chocolate party into the night, Red Star Rock Bar's full bar will also offer up adult refreshments to cleanse your palate.

Editor's note: This post was updated to reflect the latest on the chocolate festival.
