In 2017, the Tampa Convention Center announced that it would be the home for new locations of Big Ray's Fish Camp and Datz. Two years later, this August, we welcomed Big Ray's second location on the Riverwalk — it's been packed ever since.

Well, that Datz (the restaurant's third location) finally made its debut at the Tampa Convention Center this week.

A news release says the satellite Datz location is a partnership between Aramark Food & Beverage, the Tampa Convention Center’s exclusive provider, and Datz founder Roger Perry.

"[The] grab and go deli... will feature Datz grab and go salads, soups, sandwiches and delectable desserts," the release adds. A ribbon cutting is set for Thursday, November 7 at 4:30 p.m.,and you might want to be there if you want to try the joint out. According to the Tampa Convention Center's website, the satellite location will only be serving food during events, meaning Downtown Tampa professionals won't be able to grab lunch or Willy Wonka-esque desserts there on a regular basis. So make sure you have a convention center calendar on you before you barge in demanding grub.

Future ComicCon attendees should be thrilled to have creations as elaborate as their costumes.
