Tampa’s 7venth Sun Brewery in Seminole Heights has reopened as a restaurant

The same goes for the concept’s Dunedin location.

Tampa Beer Works was one of the first breweries to transition into a restaurant earlier this month, serving up grilled cheese sandos along with pours. Now, both 7venth Sun Brewery locations (Dunedin and Tampa) have followed suit.

Tampa Bay breweries are getting creative in this time of crisis. When the CDC ordered that breweries were unable to utilize taprooms, concepts began doing four-packs to-go, loading up on merch, and gearing up growlers for thirsty locals.

And in lieu of a DeSantis solution to actually getting coronavirus under control, Halsey Beshears—Florida’s Secretary of Department of Business & Professional Regulation—gave bar and brewery owners a loophole to reclassify as a restaurant.

Seeing no end in sight to the closures, and with the threat of shuttering creeping up, some breweries have transitioned into restaurants to keep their doors open, and revenue flowing.

The brewery took to Facebook to share the good news with its loyal followers, referred to as “Sunners:”

“That’s right, like the Dunedin location, we are officially a restaurant! Now it doesn’t matter what side of the Bay you are on, you can come, sit and enjoy a draft beer on a 7venth Sun patio. We’ve missed you Tampa Sunner’s and we are ecstatic to welcome you back!”

Nothing has been shared about the food menu, but it’s safe to say you can expect lowbrow bar food. One comment on the page’s Facebook read, “I walked in the other day, saw the Ramen and the microwave! I’d say that is a 5 Star fucking restaurant if you’re asking me! All day long WHOOOT!”

If you’re not quite ready to get your drink on with your fellow Sunners, you can still grab your brews curbside, or order online.

New hours for the Tampa location at 6809 N. Nebraska Ave. in Seminole Heights are 5 p.m.-10 p.m. Mon.-Fri., 2 p.m.-10 p.m. Sat., 2 p.m.-8 p.m. Sun. Hours for the Dunedin location at 1021 Broadway are 2 p.m.-10 p.m. Mon.-Sat. and 2 p.m.-8 p.m. Sun.
