Hot and cold sandwiches, soups, all-beef hot dogs and breakfast items are part of Tampa newcomer Cass Street Deli's opening menu. Last week, the New York-style Jewish delicatessen at 1331 W. Cass St. took to Facebook to reveal its carryout-driven bill of fare, which is about 95 percent of what guests can score when the place launches in January.

Bagel and lox, pastrami, corned beef, smoked turkey, whitefish salad, tuna salad and chopped liver make up the selection of half and whole sandwiches, along with the soup-and-sandwich combo. Cass Street Deli offers to "make it a Reuben for $2 more" as well.

The welcome accompaniments are matzo ball soup, vegan matzo ball soup and soup of the day, which mingle with a number of sides: cucumber and onion salad, latkes, knishes, chopped liver, beet salad, chips and pickles.

Desserts and drinks — yes, chocolate egg cream is confirmed — round out the daily offerings.

As for the weekend-only breakfast, there are bagels with butter, cream cheese or lox, challah French toast, and corned beef and hash. Something tells CL that guests also won't think twice about trying the signature "pastramlet," a pastrami and Swiss omelet served with spicy mustard hollandaise and toast on the side.

What the menu doesn't list are the cold egg salad sandwich, relish among the hot dog toppings or the meat combo as a hot sandwich option. But if Cass Street Deli has somehow missed your go-to NYC Jewish deli order, don't worry — rotating specials are in store. They include brisket, tongue and salami sandwiches, kugel, borscht and gravlax.
