From Chicago-style glizzies, to new karaoke bars and tasting rooms, Tampa Bay has a lot to look forward to this spring. Here are a few heavily-hyped spots about to drop in the coming months.

Brutalist Brewing Taproom “Temple of Beer” 1776 11th Ave. N, St. Petersburg Focusing on the art of beer, Nate Young and Tim McTague are cultivating an immersive experience for those that step foot into the minimalist bar with a rotating, 20-beer tap list. Portillo’s 2302 Tyrone Blvd. N, St. Petersburg, 630-954-3773 St. Pete residents can now transport themselves to the suburbs of Chicago in the vintage chain’s next location. Good Night John Boy 16 Second St. N, St. Petersburg For those craving ‘70s nostalgia, Good Night John Boy has answered your prayers. The 4,000-square-foot ‘70s themed nightclub will take over Ringside Cafe in downtown St. Pete but has not announced an opening date. While sticking to the era’s classic hits like ABBA and Bee Gees, Good Night John Boy will also play modern music reminiscent of the period like Silk Sonic and Dua Lipa. Cider Press 3118 3rd Ave. N, St. Petersburg, (727) 914-7222 Rebranding itself into a late-night spot from its previous cozy and bright interior, the vegan gastropub will offer a revamped menu alongside the ambiance. Ponte Tampa (Midtown) 1010 Gramercy Ln., Tampa Foodies seeking the elegant side of Tampa’s culinary scene will get a new experience from Chris Ponte, owner of Hyde Park’s On Swann and modern-Italian establishment Olivia. Mochinut 11401 N 56th St., Temple Terrace, 813-374-5781 The trendy franchise is bringing its niche Southeast Asian specialties to the Florida market. 3 Daughter’s Tasting Room 381 Mandalay Ave., Clearwater Beach A project that’s been “brewing” since 2019, the tasting room will offer exclusive, small-batch brews that will only be available at the Clearwater Beach location. Good Intentions 1900 1st Ave. S, St. Petersburg In the past, it’s been difficult to find upscale, evening dining options for plant-based eaters. Good Intentions is the next spot to prove this notion wrong. In collaboration with other Bay Area vegan spots like Black Radish Grocer, Golden Dinosaurs Deli and Nah Dogs, Good Intentions plans to open this summer in St. Pete’s Grand Central District. Small Giant Bar & Restaurant The Cora at Water Street, Tampa Ohio-style pizza spot Small Giant Bar & Restaurant is one of many new concepts opening soon at the mixed-used development Water Street Tampa. FYI, Ohio pizza is super thin-crust, square-cut, and toppings all the way to the edge.
