You’re pretty much out of luck if you didn’t get a taste of what’s to come from Cass Street Deli on National Hot Pastrami Sandwich Day. The forthcoming New York-style Jewish delicatessen hasn’t opened in Tampa yet, no. But the month-long pastrami celebration hosted by another area deli, TooJay’s, just might hold you over until then.
Florida-based chain TooJay’s, which operates a downtown location at SunTrust Financial Centre, has started offering the chance to win free pastrami for a year or other prizes (there are 100 in total). The “Delicious Deli Giveaways” sweepstakes runs now through Feb. 17.
To participate, diners must download the TooJay’s mobile app, purchase any entree of their choice and scan the receipt for reward points. They receive one entry into the weekly drawing for every entree scanned.
Bonus: Patrons nab two entries when they buy a featured pastrami menu item during the sweepstakes. Options include the hot pastrami sandwich, pastrami dogs and pastrami burger.
“The quality and deliciousness of our pastrami is something we take very seriously, not only during our month-long pastrami celebration, but throughout the entire year,” said Toojay’s CEO Max Piet in a statement. “We take pastrami as seriously as delivering simply great experiences to each of our guests.”
