West Tampa’s first brewery, Bay Cannon Beer Co., will open in May

Bay Cannon Beer Company will be West Tampa’s first brewery since 1936, when DeSoto Brewing shut its doors.

Owners Matthew Juaire and Joe Simmons have been hard at work renovating a former theater located at 2106 W. Main St. 

Although Bay Cannon Beer Company won’t open a brick-and-mortar location in Historic West Tampa for a few months, its brews have been sampled at local events, giving locals a taste of what’s to come.

Planning to offer a variety of beer styles and bar bites, Bay Cannon teases three brews on their website — a Hazy Brut IPA, Brut Belgian Single and Cranberry Beet Saison.
