Just over 8 million Floridians have at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine inside of them, with about 5 million of them fully vaccinated (that’s a lot of 5G!—joke). Still, more than 35,000 have died from COVID-19 statewide in the last year, and as Florida Politics points out, Florida’s positivity rate saw a spike last weekend, hitting 10%—”the threshold for which health officials consider the spread of the virus out of control.”
Still, the local concert scene is finding ways to try and stay on its feet, we’ve marked the gigs at venues that have joined a Tampa-based and city-recognized “Safe & Sound” initiative that pledges to strictly enforce limited capacity, mask wearing and social distancing—and tried our best to explain COVID-19 protocols at venues that not able to join Tampa’s “Safe & Sound” program.
