will play Jannus Live on Monday, October 25. The band performs at the downtown St. Petersburg courtyard on the heels of a blockbuster summer tour, preceded by a sold-out spring theater tour run. It was Sublime’s first trek in 14 years, after officially announcing their return to the stage with new frontman Rome.
With original members Bud Gaugh and Eric Wilson teaming up with Rome, the band has been performing songs from Sublime’s back catalog — many of which have never been performed live — as well as the group’s first new song written together, “Panic.”
Rome, a 21-year-old northern California native, was introduced to Gaugh and Wilson in 2008. Last year, a handful of jam sessions led to an impromptu show at a small club in Nevada, flooring a packed-house crowd. The trio later performed a one-off at the Smokeout Festival last fall and was a surprise special guest at the infamous KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas show, before officially announcing themselves as Sublime with Rome.
