Creative Loafing's Sensory Overload festival features a surplus of tantalizing sights, sounds and tastes Saturday at the Cuban Club in Ybor City. In the sonic department, attendees will be treated to a slew of music acts that includes Latin Grammy-nominated funk tropicale ensemble Locos Por Juana. The 10-person touring unit, from Miami, offers an ass-shaking blend of Colombian cumbia melded with reggae and modern club sounds punctuated by a tight horn section. NYC future-rockers Apes & Androids bring an over-the-top concoction of glam bombast and synth-driven outrageousness that should keep people bobbing their heads into the wee hours of the evening. Orlando indie-rock faves History and Band Marino are also on the roster with Tampa's MC Laws, Clearwater's nationally acclaimed psychedelic rock outfit Très Bien and Tampa-Orlando experimental Latin folk duo Acho Brother. In total, there are a dozen acts scheduled to perform, including such DJs as Blenda and the Crate Brothers.
