Deuces are about to be wild in Tampa Bay, because legendary dad-rock outfit Aerosmith appears to be on the heels of announcing a new run of shows.

Reps at Amalie Arena took to Instagram Tuesday morning, with a video of the jumbo screen in Thunder Alley showing the words โ€œpeace outโ€ in the style of Aerosmithโ€™s logo, used since 1982โ€™s Rock in a Hard Place. Around the same time, the band behind โ€œDream Onโ€ posted a cryptic message of its own: The logo in black and white logo, with a caption indicating that something will happen at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 1.

Guitarist Joe Perry recently revealed to The Boston Globe that plans to take on a 40-plus-date U.S. tour in the fall were underway, and to be announced before summertime.

He added that itโ€™s unlikely that drummer Joey Kramerโ€”who lost his wife last summerโ€”will return to the kit for this run of shows. His drum tech, John Douglas has been filling in, and will most likely stay in the repertoire throughout the bandโ€™s first major run of U.S. shows since 2015.

We donโ€™t have a solid date or ticket prices yet, but weโ€™ll update this post when said details are revealed.

It has been 11 years since Aerosmithโ€™s last performance in townโ€”also at the since-renamed Tampa Bay Times Forumโ€”with support from Cheap Trick, featuring Safety Harbor resident Robin Zander. Steven Tylerโ€™s solo country tour did roll into Ruth Eckerd Hall back in 2016, but with that repressed memory back in mindโ€”and how Perry only seldom performs with Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp in the Hollywood Vampiresโ€”itโ€™s clear that Tampatown is long overdue for some sweet emotion.
