Jawbreaker just wrapped an East Coast tour with Tampa’s very own Pohgoh, but Bay area fans hoping for a local reprise might want to put those dreams to rest.
Jawbreaker — along with another reuniting band, Jawbox, which features producer J. Robbins — have been tapped to headline Fest 18 in Gainesville. Less Than Jake, Mariachi El Bronx, Off With Their Heads, AJJ (fka Andrew Jackson Jihad), Iron Reagan, Joyce Manor and Teenage Bottlerocket are also on the bill.
The three-day punk-rock party happens November 1-3, and will take place inside 18 of the college town’s venues. More than 300 bands are expected to play, including Bay area locals like Wolf-Face and Vacancy. More acts will be announced on May 11.
All hope is not lost for another Sunshine State show with Jawbreaker, however, since the band does not appear on Fest 18’s “Florida Exclusive” lineup (a Tampa show might be unlikely due to proximity clauses, but we’ll keep our fingers crossed). You are still pretty much fucked if you planned on attending Pre-Fest in Ybor City, though.
