Tampa Bay resident John McEuenโ€”formerly of Nitty Gritty Dirt Bandโ€”recently told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay that he moved to Franklin, Tennessee, explaining why he didnโ€™t show at last yearโ€™s Ruth Eckerd Hall gig from his old friends.

The 77-year-old banjo virtuosoโ€”who has been said to be a friend and teacher of Steve Martinโ€™sโ€”is coming back down for a long weekend, though, and the closest heโ€™ll be to Tampa Bay is at McCurdyโ€™s Comedy Theatre in Sarasota, where the 77-year-old and his Circle Band will tell tales of his fabled career, as well as perform hits and mega rarities inside and outside of Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.

Tickets to see John McCuen’s Circle Band at McCurdy’s Comedy Theatre in Sarasota on Monday, Feb. 6 are still on sale for $37.
