Last year, the progressive country outfit Marshall Tucker Bandโ€”on the heels of the 50th anniversary of its debut smash hit โ€œCanโ€™t You Seeโ€โ€”lost its namesake, a blind piano tuner from South Carolina who was never actually a member of the band.

But original frontman Doug Gray & co. carry on anyway, with its jazz-meets-country anthems.

On Friday, the band headlines opening day of the 102nd annual Chasco Fiesta, ahead of a nine-day schedule that also includes a set from country duo Maddie and Tae, as well as tributes to rock, R&B, Native American music, and, you guessed it, The Black Honkeys.

Tickets to see Marshall Tucker Band play Chasco Fiesta on Friday, March 16 at Sims Park in New Port Richey are still available and start at $20. Subscribe to Creative Loafing newsletters.
