Kersey Williams’ experimental-folk project Bushi isn’t one that you get to see in Tampa very often, but this visit from Mouth Reader is a pretty damn good reason to make the trek from St. Pete. The Murfreesboro, Tennessee band is one of the highlights of Nashville’s absolutely thriving rock and roll scene, and it arrives in Seminole Heights with a series of fuzzed-out, dreamy garage-pop singles (“Crying On Me,” “Eyes Sink” for starters) in tow. No telling if the band will have any of the hand-cut vinyl it pressed with indie-imprint Funky Frankenstein on hand, but getting to see Kyle Frary lead Mouth Readers at such an intimate show is worth the price of admission ($5) alone. FayRoy — which released one of CL’s favorite local albums of 2017 — opens the show, too.
