Amalie Arena gave us a WTF moment when it announced a show from Puerto Rican Latin trap star Anuel AA, and this show from another Boriqua (Rauw Alejandro) is a chance to see yet another rising Latin music star in a much smaller space (Whiskey North in the Tampa suburb Carrollwood).

Born in the hometown of reggaeton (Carolina, Puerto Rico), Raúl Alejandro Ocasio Ruiz is inspired by Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson as well as Chris Brown, Daddy Yankee, Wisin & Yandel and Ozuna. Alejandro, however, ups the ante of all of it with dance moves that make Ricky Martin look like Ned Flanders.

You will not see the 26-year-old in a room this small ever again, and there’s even more Latin flavor coming to Tampa Bay this weekend, thanks to El Gran Combo, which plays Busch Gardens’ Food & Wine Festival on Sunday.

Rauw Alejandro. Sat. March 30. Whiskey North, Tampa. eventbrite.com.
