John Moreland is supposed to start his six-date Florida tour with a February 10 date in Key West, but things might sound a little different than the band is used to when it arrives at the Mile 0 Fest.

Last night, while travelling south through Orlando, some asshole broke into the band’s trailer and stole a few amps, lots of pedals, a power source, cases and some leather motorcycle jackets.

A quick reverb.com check on prices of the stolen inventory brings the monetary value of the stolen gear up towards the $10,000 mark. Moreland’s reps at Thirty Tigers have confirmed that no guitars were stolen, but we fucking hate assholes that steal shit from bands.

It sucks, too, because Moreland and Calvin Abney just did a great duo set in O-town last November.

A GoFundMe has been started been started by Todd Farrell (of Todd Farrell Jr. & the Dirty Birds fame), and nearly $1,000 has been raised in the first two hours. Moreland, for his part, isn’t going to let it rain on the parade (which arrives in the Bay area on Valentine’s Day for a show at the Safety Harbor Art and Music Center).

“A little gear theft ain’t gonna ruin my goddamn day,” he wrote on Instagram. “See you soon, Key West.”

It’s good to see the big bad lover in high spirits, but if you hear anything, then please reach out via Facebook or email tt@ttmgmt.net. See the list of stolen gear below.
