✔️  Emo Night Tampa Presents: Blacksmith w/Shurwood First Chance Last Chance has a schnazzy new sign outside, but here’s another indication that the place is becoming Ybor City’s little emo stronghold. The gang behind the joint’s popular Emo Night is staging live shows, and this one features two of the area’s premiere purveyors of fourth-wave emo (Blacksmith and Shurwood) coming together for a free show that starts at 10 p.m. (First Chance Last Chance Bar, Ybor City) INFO

✔️  Prisoner w/Horsewhip/Alex Nicosia Justin Hast brings his Richmond, Virginia metal quintet to St. Pete so that it can show Fubar (plus local openers Horsewhip and Alex Nicosia) just how loud and agro a new Force Field Records release actually is (Beyond The Infinite was released in April and it’s still making our ears ring). This show is kind of a makeup show after an illness in the band family forced a cancellation (drummer Joel Hansen spent part of the summer with his mom in hospice care), so expect lots of hugs and sweaty, family vibes on the 600 Block. Florida Orchestra Coffee Concerts: Classical America This 11 a.m. event is for the early birds who’d like to kick off their Veteran’s Day weekend with some American classical tunes. Stuart Molina conducts an ensemble through selections by Aaron Copland (“Appalachian Spring Ballet Suite”), Morton Gould (“American Salute”) and Samuel Barber (“Adagio for Strings”). ✔️  Jazz Cellar Orchestra: How Do We Keep the Music Playing? In CL’s Music Issue, we wrote about a now long-gone Ybor City venue called the Jazz Cellar (just a few steps from our current offices, coincidentally). At this show, an 11-piece ensemble — which includes Dick Rumore, Jeff Henson and Len Lenhard — opens the door to the past by giving attendees more of the artistry that it put together so many years ago. PARR-B-Que w/Charlie Morris Band PARR (it stands for Prosthetic and Amputee Rehab and Research Foundation) takes over Dirty Shame for a benefit show that helps the organization bridge gaps between education, research, and clinical care in the veteran prosthetic community. Charlie Morris brings the blues tunes, but you won’t feel sad after pitching in. (Dirty Shame, Ybor City) INFO

Mostly Mac: Before Clearwater show, Christine McVie dishes on her new duet album and tour with Lindsey Buckingham

✔️  Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie For the first, and only, time, two members of the mighty Fleetwood Mac have stepped outside the mothership to make music together, and while Lindsey Buckingham and Christine aren’t the entire Mac, this show in support of their new album should be good enough for fans. Read Bill DeYoung’s interview with McVie here. (Ruth Eckerd Hall, Clearwater) INFO

✔️  Ian Anderson Sorry kids, there is no one actually named “Jethro Tull,” but that guy who plays the flute on one leg is actually real. His name is Ian Anderson, and he’s bringing tunes by the Tull to St. Pete for a night of nostalgia that’ll get an extra boost since members of his touring outfit were actually members of a late-period version of the band. Read our interview with Anderson here. (Mahaffey Theater, St. Petersburg) INFO

✔️  Terroir002 : (kick)starter c. 1949 sadly abandoned Wally Clark’s Something Else Thursdays futurebeat night (and we look forward to its new home), but at least the Lowry Park area watering hole has retained Terroir, an occasional mash-up of progressive music and craft beer. This edition features a variety of acoustic and electroacoustic solo works by local and international composers, and each piece of music on the program will be paired with a craft beer based on various attributes, such as title, theme, and complexity. The specially-curated beer menu will be revealed at the concert, but does promise only Florida-based breweries. Donations are encouraged at what is an otherwise no-cover show.
