✔️ Greensky Bluegrass w/Cris Jacobs Greensky Bluegrass’ new album, All For Money, sees release three days before this St. Petersburg show, but the prog-leaning Michigan-based string band has been spending the last 10 days pleasing fans with two-set shows that feature new arrangements of old songs (“Old Barns”) plus covers of the Allman Brothers, Paul Simon, and Pink Floyd, too. Hell, even road tech Keith Kinnear got into the action by playing tambourine on “Burn Them.” Versatile Pennsylvania songwriter Cris Jacobs opens the show. (Jannus Live, St. Petersburg) INFO
✔️ EMIT-a-thon w/Mark Hosler/Anoikis/Kersey-Stewart A scholarship benefit program is tapping Negativland co-founder Mark Hosler to help raise money so that students can get an assist with tuition at St. Petersburg College’s Music Industry Recording Arts program. Hosler’s California collage experimental group was a thorn in copyright lawyers’ sides back in the ‘80s when it introduced the concept of “culture jamming” to an unsuspecting public by creating records, video, visual artworks, radio, and live performance, using appropriated sound, image, and text. He’ll play solo and use one-of-a-kind electronic noise-making devices for this set that is supposed to immerse concertgoers in a non-linear, dynamic “living” system of sound. U.K. Composer Andrew Leslie Hooker brings choreographer-dancers Melissa Pasut and Rachel Sweeney to play as the electroacoustic Anoikis trio, and a joint project from Bay area composers Tom Kersey and Jim Stewart opens the show. Leonid & Friends A Moscow-based tribute to Chicago is just absurd. The ridiculous-ness earned Leonid & Friends more than 15 million views on YouTube, however, and that’s why we’re writing about this world tour, which stops into downtown Clearwater on Tuesday. If the idea of an album called Chicagovich doesn’t offend you, then you’re going to want to see what all the fuss is about. (Capitol Theatre, Clearwater) INFO
✔️Arthur w/mtvh1n1/Charles Irwin Arthur Shea opened for Amen Dunes in Orlando on Monday night, but Tampa-based DIY promoter Pocket Sand scored a one-off show from the Philadelphia weirdo-pop genius who performs under the Arthur moniker. Tampa bands Charles Irwin and mtvh1n1 open. (Mojo Books & Music, Tampa) INFO
